Frequently Asked Questions
Everything you want to know about the

Real questions. Plain answers. no technical degree required.
I already have a dash cam that records front and rear. Why would I need something different?
Front and rear cameras cover two directions. Your vehicle has four. The accidents that cost drivers the most – parking lot scrapes, side-swipes, hit-and-runs – happen in the two directions your current camera never sees. A front and rear system records what happened ahead of you and behind you.
The MiNy360 records what happened everywhere. If it happened around your vehicle, the MiNy360 captured it.
Is this MiNy360 similar to Rydeen’s TOMBO 360X?
Yes, in terms of the core technology. The TOMBO 360X is Rydeen’s flagship 360° system. It’s a premium, professionally installed platform with a 4K camera and a 10” frameless touchscreen mirror. The MiNy360 brings the same patented 360° surround view technology to a compact, plug-and-play unit that any driver can install themselves in about 15 minutes.
What changes is the form factor, the price point, and the installation requirement making professional-grade 360° protection accessible to virtually any driver in any vehicle.
My current dash cam has a wide-angle lens. Isn’t that basically the same thing?
A wide-angle lens extends your forward view. It still only looks in one direction. Wide-angle on a standard dash cam might give you 140° or even 170° of forward coverage. The MiNy360 delivers a full 360° horizontal surround view—the complete circle around your vehicle. There is no wide-angle equivalent to that.
The blind spots that cause parking lot incidents and side-swipes exist precisely because wide-angle forward cameras don’t cover them.
How do I actually see all four directions at once? That sounds complicated.
Here’s the honest answer: you don’t need to. The MiNy360 mounts on your dashboard in a bracket, with the 3-inch screen facing down. You’re not meant to watch it while you drive — and that’s actually the point. The camera is capturing everything happening around your vehicle, all four directions, all the time. You don’t need to see it to benefit from it.
Think of it like a smoke detector. You’re not watching it. But it’s watching for you.
What happens when my car is parked? Does it stop recording?
When the car is off and unplugged from the 12V outlet, the MiNy360 powers down. Unlike the MiNy360X, the MiNy360 does not include a built-in proximity radar sensor for parking monitoring. An optional proximity radar sensor is available as a separate add-on purchase — however, parking monitoring only works when the unit is powered. If the vehicle is parked and the 12V outlet is not live, the sensor will not activate.
For parents buying this for a teenager’s daily driver, the MiNy360 is always recording while the car is running — which covers the vast majority of incidents that happen on the road.
How do I get the footage off the camera after something happens?
Footage is stored on a small memory card inside the camera. Getting it off quickly after an incident is important, especially when you need to share it with your insurance company.
Two ways, both simple. You can remove the MiNy360 from its dashboard bracket and review footage directly on the 3-inch touchscreen. Or connect your smartphone to the Rydeen 360 App
via Wi-Fi and your footage transfers directly to your phone. No removing SD cards. No plugging into a computer. Just open the app.
Will the picture actually be clear enough to read a license plate?
The MiNy360 records in 2K Ultra HD using a Sony imaging chip — the same sensor technology trusted by professional camera manufacturers. It also features Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology that automatically balances bright and dark areas in the same frame. The result: a license plate in shadow is just as readable as one in direct sunlight. The included rear camera is rated IP67 waterproof, meaning rain, snow, and car washes won’t compromise your coverage.
Can I install this myself like a regular dash cam?
Yes. That’s exactly the point. The MiNy360 is a true plug-and-play system. Mount it on the dashboard using the included bracket, plug it into your vehicle’s 12V outlet, and it’s on. No installer. No appointment. No tools. Most people have it up and running in about
15 minutes.
Where does it mount in my car? Will it block my view while I'm driving?
The MiNy360 mounts on the dashboard using the included bracket. While it’s mounted, the 3-inch screen faces away — discreet and out of your line of sight. To review footage, simply remove the unit from the bracket. You won’t be staring at a screen while you drive. As long as it’s on, it’s working.
The MiNy360 can also be mounted on the windshield, but keep in mind the power cord running to the 12V outlet will be visible. For a cleaner look, the dashboard mount is the our recommended choice.
I've heard of other brands like Momento or Garmin. How is the MiNy360X different from those?
Those are good brands. Their products record what happens in front of your vehicle and behind it. The MiNy360 records what happens everywhere around your vehicle simultaneously. This is a fundamentally different level of protection. Beyond the 360° coverage, the MiNy360 is built on Rydeen’s AHD Platform, meaning it can expand into a complete multi-camera vehicle awareness system through additional Rydeen accessories.
What does the warranty cover?
The MiNy360 carries a one-year limited warranty covering defects in materials and workmanship from the original purchase date. If you ever have a question or a problem, Rydeen’s support team answers the phone Mon. – Fri. during business hours, Pacific Time. A real person picks up.
Where do I buy one?
The MiNy360 is available through Rydeen’s authorized dealer and distributor network and MESA buying group members.

What is the difference between the MiNy360 and the MiNy360X?
There are three (3) main differences between these two products.
Mounting & Power: The MiNy360 mounts to your dashboard and plugs into your vehicle’s 12V outlet (cigarette lighter). The MiNy360X mounts to your windshield and is hardwired directly to your vehicle’s power source.
Parking Monitoring: The MiNy360X includes Parking Monitoring with a proximity radar. The MiNy360 does not.
Monitor Visibility: Because the MiNy360X is windshield-mounted, its 3″ monitor is always visible. The MiNy360’s dashboard bracket blocks the monitor – you need to remove it from the bracket to view the screen.
The MiNy360 is a DIY-friendly install – no professional needed, done in about 15 min.
I set my display on forward view. Does that mean it's only recording this view?
No. The display mode controls what you see on the 3-inch touchscreen – Split, 360°, or Wide. It does not affect what the camera captures. The MiNy360 is recording its full 360° field of view regardless of which display mode is selected.
An incident just happened. How do I make sure that footage is saved?
The fastest and most reliable thing you can do: pull over safely or if you can’t move your vehicle, remove the SD card from the unit immediately. Once the card is out, nothing can overwrite the footage. Save it. At your earliest convenience, insert it into your computer or a card reader, and copy the files you need.
