Real questions. Plain answers. no technical degree required.

A front and rear system is the most common setup; one camera facing forward through your windshield, one facing rearward. It’s a good start. Here’s the gap.

Front and rear cameras cover two directions. Your vehicle has four. The accidents that cost drivers the most—parking lot scrapes, side-swipes, and hit-and-runs—happen in the two directions your current camera never sees. A front and rear system records what happened ahead of you and behind you.

The MiNy360X records what happened everywhere. If it happened around your vehicle, the MiNy360X captured it.

The camera uses an ultra-wide fisheye lens that captures everything around your vehicle in a circular raw image The MiNy360X automatically processes that circle image and flattens it into natural-looking video view. The result is a seamless 360° ribbon of footage: front, sides, and rear all connected. This is the image navigate on your touchscreen or view in the Rydeen 360 App. Every angle. Nothing hidden.

A wide-angle lens extends your forward view. It still only looks in one direction. Wide-angle on a standard dash cam might give you 140° or even 170° of forward coverage. The MiNy360X delivers a full 360° horizontal surround view—the complete circle around your vehicle. There is no wide-angle equivalent to that.

The blind spots that cause parking lot incidents and side-swipes exist precisely because wide-angle forward cameras don’t cover them.

Tap the File Lock icon on the touchscreen: it looks like a lock with a camera. The MiNy360X will immediately tag the current clip as an SOS file, protecting it from being overwritten by the camera’s normal loop recording cycle (when the lock is active, a lock symbol appears next to the red recording dot at the top of the screen). Find the SOS files in your file library tagged with “SOS” in the filename so they’re easy to locate later.

Tap it as soon as it’s safe to do so. Every second of loop recording that continues on other files is another second of potential overwrite risk to adjacent clips. The G-sensor will do this automatically on hard impacts — but for anything the G-sensor doesn’t catch, you need to do it manually.

The display mode options are; Split, 360°, and Wide. This selection controls what you see on the 3-inch touchscreen. This does not stop the camera from capturing its full field of view.

The MiNy360X is wired through the ACC circuit, which means it powers on and off with your ignition: same as your car radio. When you turn the car off, the unit shuts down. The Proximity Radar then operates independently in a low-draw standby state, waking only when it detects motion within its 1.64ft–8.2ft detection range, recording the event, and returning to standby. It does not run continuously. For the vast majority of drivers in normal daily use, battery drain is not a concern. The caveat: if your vehicle sits parked for multiple consecutive days in a busy area – a parking garage, an airport lot, a busy street, with frequent motion triggers, cumulative draw is worth discussing with your installer. The manual does not specify a low-voltage cutoff threshold, so ask your installer whether one was set during installation for your specific vehicle.

The MiNy360X is available exclusively through Rydeen’s authorized dealer and installer network, not on Amazon, not at big-box retail. That’s intentional. A product that requires professional installation to perform correctly and maintain its warranty belongs in the hands of a professional who will install it correctly.

The MiNy360X is a hardwired system: it connects permanently to your vehicle’s power so it can protect your car around the clock, even when the engine is off. Professional installation by an authorized Rydeen retailer is highly recommended. This protects your warranty and ensures the system performs exactly as designed. Think of it the way you think about a car alarm or a remote start system – the value is in having it done correctly the first time by someone who knows what they’re doing.

The MiNy360X is designed to mount on your windshield, positioned to capture the full 360° surround view your vehicle needs without interrupting your line of sight. Because it’s a hardwired system, your authorized installer routes all wiring cleanly along the upper interior of your vehicle – hidden from view, out of the way, and finished to a professional standard. You won’t see the wires. You won’t notice the unit is there. You will notice what it captures.

Footage is stored on a small memory card inside the camera. Getting it off quickly after an incident is important, especially when you need to share it with your insurance company.

Two ways, both simple. You can review footage directly on the 3-inch touchscreen right on the camera. Or the MiNy360X connects to your smartphone using genuine 5GHz Wi-Fi (the real high-speed chipset), not the simulated version found in many competing cameras. Open the Rydeen 360 App, connect to the camera, and your footage transfers to your phone quickly and reliably. No removing SD cards. No plugging into a computer. Just open the app.

The MiNy360X records in 2K Ultra HD using a Sony imaging chip: the same sensor technology trusted by professional camera manufacturers. It also features Wide Dynamic Range (WDR) technology that automatically balances bright and dark areas in the same frame. The result, a license plate in shadow is just as readable as one in direct sunlight. The included rear camera is rated IP67 waterproof, meaning rain, snow, and car washes won’t compromise your coverage.

Why does the imaging chip matter? Not all camera sensors perform equally in low light, at night, or in mixed lighting conditions. SONY’s imaging chip captures detail that generic sensors miss — particularly in the early morning, at dusk, and under artificial parking lot lighting when most incidents occur.
