Rydeen to Bring New In-vehicle Technology to CES, Wi-Fi and OTA video promise expanded applications for rear-view safety

TORRANCE, CA (01.02.2014) – Rydeen Mobile Electronics will celebrate the New Year with its fourth exhibition at the International Consumer Electronics Show (CES), held January 7-10 at the Las Vegas Convention Center in Las Vegas. The premier innovator and supplier of safety and convenience technology for the aftermarket will showcase its 2014 product line at Booth No. 3424 in the North Hall.
Rydeen has become known for bringing OEM-quality, intuitive safety solutions to the aftermarket. The company first introduced its MN302 replacement mirror with built-in touch screen navigation and Bluetooth in 2010, and has since improved upon it with a faster, sleeker, more responsive flagship product in the MN312S, as well as the versatile MultiMount series of vehicle-specific mirror stems. Rydeen has also produced the MultiMount-compatible MV line of monitor equipped replacement mirrors, along with a popular collection of rear view cameras and accessories including the MINy and DUO lines.
“We are extremely proud of how far we have come in such a short time,” said Phil Maeda, president and chief engineer at Rydeen. “Our dedicated staff, both here and abroad, stands behind the quality of our products and the service provide to our distributors, retailers and end users. That said, technology changes every year, and our new product line represents our efforts to continually meet or exceed market demand.”
Principal among Rydeen’s newest innovations at CES is the upcoming DG240 wireless video transmission system which uses sophisticated OTA (Over-the-Air) transmission technology to produce a crystal-clear camera signal up to 250 feet. The DG240 is optimized for rear-view camera installs on the new slew of commercial vans such as the Ram C/V Tradesman, Dodge / Mercedes-Benz Sprinter and Nissan NV, as well as on larger vehicles and long-distance applications such as RVs and trailers.
Additional technology showings include a Wi-Fi-enabled rear-view camera that makes a direct connection to a Wi-Fi-enabled head unit or monitor to deliver live video. The company is also showing a prototype Advanced Driving Assistance System that includes collision and lane departure warning as well as digital video recording.
The center of the booth will feature the Rydeen Honda CR-Z, replete with fresh graphics and a multimedia system designed and installed by Al and Ed’s Autosound in Sherman Oaks, Calif. The CR-Z will be used to demonstrate the double-DIN, Android-powered DV638A multimedia receiver, which is now shipping to authorized Rydeen retailers and distributors. Also available for in-vehicle demonstration is the recently released RDV360 camera / digital video recording system that uses four cameras to provide a 360-degree, top-down view of the vehicle’s surroundings, and the company’s BL-622P parking system that uses six flush-mounted sensors to provide front and rear bumper and fascia protection.
